Spring 2003
This is a hands on course where students will learn how the web is
different for people with disabilities and how to design web resources so they
are equally accessible to all people. The course includes introduction to the
concepts of designing accessible web based materials to be more accessible to
people with disabilities. Students will actually redesign web resources to be
more accessible to people with disabilities, and the redesigns will contribute
to the on-line knowledge and resources available to help web developers
understand how to make the web more accessible. Participants should have
experience in developing and publishing web materials.
Students will learn:
- How people with disabilities view the web
- W3C recommendations and Federal 508 Standards for accessibility
